The Boston Bruins suffered a 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday in Boston.

Forgive the Bruins if they had something else on their mind throughout much of the game.

Center Patrice Bergeron was on the receiving end of a nasty hit from behind from Flyers defenseman Randy Jones - losing consciousness as he fell to the ice.  The game was delayed for roughly 15 minutes with 3:53 left in the first period as Bergy laid motionless on the ice.

Bergeron, who was injured behind the Philadelphia net taking the heavy hit to his backside, hit the glass face-first and dropped to the ice on his back.

Media outlets did not receive word on Bergeron’s status until after the game was completed.  Bergeron, who was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, was diagnosed by team doctor with a concussion and a broken nose as a result of the hit.  For anyone that witnessed the hit, it could have been much worse.

Bruins gave it their best to get a win for Bergeron, as they fired 39 shots on Martin Biron, who held the fort down in the 3rd to preserve the win.  Tim Thomas was solid once again in goal for Boston, shopping 26 of 28 shots.

Marco Sturm scored the lone Bruins goal on the day, a power play marker at 7:51 of the second period to open the scoring.

Get well soon Patrice.
