Word is the Bruins are hot and heavy in trade talks with a few different teams around the league.
What’s the need?
A #2 or #3 defenseman along with a veteran Center to patrol the pivot on the second line - as insurance while Patrice Bergeron recovers from his injury.
There have been whispers of talks with Colorado for defenseman JM Liles, who is a hot commodity and available, with his pending free agency at the end of the season.
Could the Bruins finally send veteran winger, long time Bruin PJ Axelsson packing? It could take Axelsson and a prospect for the Bruins to pry Liles away from the Avs.
If the Bruins are looking to play ‘lets make a deal’ - I see any of the following players being dangled to get a valuable asset in return:
PJ Axelsson - Long time Bruin is cheap and reliable on the defensive end.
Andrew Alberts - Big defenseman can can skate are always attractive.
David Krejci - With Vladimir Sobotka’s arrival and Brad Marchant very close … Krejci can be had for the right price.
Brandon Bochenski - Just not in the Bruins long term plans.
Glen Murray - Price tag that goes along with him makes it hard to package him in any deal. B’s will continue to try though.
The good news is with the Bruins playing solid hockey, they are in no rush to swing a bad deal. They can afford to be patient until another team wants to dance.
