Would the real Manny Fernandez please stand up?

 Just maybe he did today.

Today, the Bruins finally got a little taste of what they traded for in the offseason, when Fernandez backstopped the Bruins to a 1-0 shoot out win over the New York Rangers.   He was good - not fantastic - but good is the best they’ve seen from the NHL Vet since they acquired him in the summer for prospect Petr Kalus.

Fernandez, who’s best save came early in the second period with a flashy right pad save on Petr Prucha’s backhanded bid from close range, finished the game with 26 saves.

The Bruins meanwhile, continued their surprising start to the 07/08 campaign with their fourth straight ‘W’ to run their record to 5-2.

B’s shoot out specialist Phil Kessel (4 game winners last season), the last skater to take his turn today, burried the winning goal top shelf behind Henrik Lundqvist, to the delight of the Bruins home crowd.
